16. Sigmarzeit, 2522

It has come to our knowledge that a self-claimed prophet is traveling with some group of decadent artists calling themselves as “Ulfred Hahn’s Circling Circus”. Our very own Pyotr Mark encountered the troupe at the hill of Jägerschloss and mister Mark tells us that they were a very interesting group indeed.

Mark tells us that while the group was interviewed by the local priest of Sigmar the prophet made his presence known by smiting the audience with the power of Sigmar and by locating a dangerous conjurer who has creating an unholy monster to win in a rooster battle! Needless to say the priest was stunned by showing of such presence and made sure that the carnival continued its journey under the blessing of our lord.

It very much seems that this carnival might be the same one that caused disturbance at the edge of Schadensumpf not too long ago. If this is the case the Daily Empire makes a promise to follow the footsteps and doings of this carnival during these mighty stressed times.

10th of Sigmarzeit, 2522

As one of our informers returned with from Marienburg he told us an intriguing story.

It seems that a new carnival has entered the region of Middenheim on this troubled time. What the name of the carnival is he could not say but they sure have seemed to encounter problems. The Carnival passed through Elsterweld during the first days of Sigmarzeit and made quite an impression. The villagers had told our informer that the carnival hosted mutants, greenskins and beastmen and planed to turn the whole town into a playground for Villainous Powers.

Now this all might seem to you to be grave news indeed but as our informant had asked a few questions to make sure what had happened the villagers fell silent and only by determined questioning the truth was uncovered. The villagers didn’t actually see any mutants, the only greenskin in the group might have been a child in costume for the man the villagers burned as a beastman wasn’t a mutant at all but just a stupid fat man with horns tied to his head for show.

This should all be a dire warning to all fear-mongers not to take justice into own hands. Even as the times grow darker and darker and these rumors of war seem to float around we should trust our fate to the hands of those who know what they’re doing. There’s no need to burn innocent (or seemingly innocent) people when we have the mighty church of Sigmar to do it for us. Whether we wanted or not…

After an argument that lead to nowhere the producers of The Daily Empire decided to stay with this sunking ship called Middenheim. At least for now. As new stories follow the The Daily Empire will publish them as soon as possible. Due use of easy printing and “free” paper provided by the Brethren of the Lighthouse the paper can be sold with a low price of under four silvers!

Through this spring our paper will follow the travels of an entourage of carnival folk in hope of learning something from these vile creatures. We’ll propably also see some news from all over the Old World as well as little personal interviews with the residents of Empire.

I hope you’ll enjoy the ramblings of my staff.

Sincerly Yours,

Larz Felsberg, Head Editor of Daily Empire
